Triplefins are New Zealand’s most abundant shallow reef fish, with 27 species found only here! The blue-eyed triplefin, easily spotted by its glowing blue eyes and red bands, grows to about 6 cm and lives on rocky reefs from Cape Reinga to Stewart Island.
