💧 Protect Our Water, Empower Our Communities

Your donation supports:

  • School programmes that connect tamariki with their local freshwater and marine environments — inspiring them to take action and create plans to protect them.

  • Community experience days like snorkelling, kayaking, and riverside planting — helping people discover, understand, and care for their local waterways.

  • Expert support for catchment groups, environmental organisations, and iwi/hapū across Aotearoa New Zealand — building skills and strategies to restore and protect our waters.

The Dr Roger Grace Memorial Fund, managed by the Mountains to Sea Conservation Trust, honours the legacy of marine conservationist and Mountains to Sea Conservation Trust founder Dr Roger Grace (1945–2019). A committee of Roger's colleagues, friends, family, and conservation organisations oversees the fund’s use.

The fund supports:

  • Long-term crayfish monitoring at Tāwharanui

  • Marine conservation establishment projects, including no-take areas

  • The annual Whangateau Snorkel Day

  • A tri-annual award for early-career individuals contributing to NZ marine conservation and communication.
