What are Īnanga?

Īnanga are small native fish that live in rivers and the sea. Their babies, called whitebait, swim upriver to grow. They lay eggs on riverbanks during high tides. Īnanga need safe, grassy banks to spawn, but habitat damage is causing their numbers to drop. We can help by protecting rivers.
