Īnanga Whole Programme

Inanga need moist, shaded riverbanks to spawn during spring tides. Natural sites and straw bale habitats are monitored using area and density counts to estimate egg numbers. Good habitat needs healthy vegetation, right bank slope, and protection from predators, pests, and livestock.
