Olive Rockfish - Taumaka
Acanthoclinus fuscus

Meet the olive rockfish—our rockpool contender for Fish of the Year! This elusive intertidal species is the largest of the commonly seen rockfishes. With homing instincts, it returns to its pool as the tide falls and can breathe air to survive when stranded. It swims like an eel, wriggling through rocky shallows in search of crustaceans and molluscs. Perfectly adapted for the wild world of tidepools!
