Short Tail Stingray - Whai
Bathytoshia brevicaudata

The short-tail stingray is the largest stingray species, reaching up to 2 m wide and 4.5 m long including the tail. Named for its short tail relative to its body, it has a broad disc shape with large pectoral fins. Found on temperate seafloors like estuaries and reefs, juveniles stay closer to shore. They give birth to live young through ovoviviparity - eggs hatch inside the mother!
